This “virtuous cycle” depicts a cyclical process for individuals and communities whereby their growth in faith, love and understanding leads to a sense of solidarity with people of all races and to actions. This cycle makes our community and each of us more welcoming and just. Foundational to the cycle is understanding and embracing the teachings of our faith about race (see “Why the Faith and Race Project?”) and ultimately transforming ourselves and our community.
There is no beginning or end of this cycle. You can start to be the change anywhere you wish. Here are some ways that you can learn, discern, connect and act to move forward as a person and as a community:
Connect with others who share our vision : There are already over 100 people on our mailing list for announcements of activities and events. Just email us at LIVFAITHANDRACE@GMAIL.COM to join that list. Your emails will not be shared with anyone outside of our small “core group.” You will only receive a one or two emails a month to let you know what’s happening related to race relations in our community and invite you to events.
Help Guide the Faith and Race Project: Join the core group and share your ideas to move our community forward, and help make activities happen. Email us at LIVFAITHANDRACE@GMAIL.COM to learn more about the core group which only meets once per month.
Learn and Discern: To understand more about how and why we perceive people who are different from us, consciously and unconsciously, and how People of Color are impacted differently by the system of laws, policies and practices, we need to both learn and become more aware. The Faith and Race Project offers Presentations and Programs that help you learn and discern about the world of race relations and our places in it.

Act to Change our Community: In the past we’ve marched together behind a banner with a simple message . . . ” united in love all people.” We’ve proclaimed our message that at the Brighton July 4th Parade and at a demonstration against white supremacy. We’re planning on more expressions of our shared values (like signs for businesses) and political action against injustice. Look at Upcoming Events and join one. Help to change the narrative in our county to reflect the growing support for diversity, respect and justice.
